Trational Culture: Taiwan's Opera

My issue is about Taiwan’s Opera, which is a traditional culture. It had been declining for a while. However, in recent year, Taiwan’s opera has gradually developed and progressed. For example, Ming Hwa Yuan, which is a famous troupe for Taiwan’s opera, is going to push it to the higher level. They add some special efficacy into the performances, which are different from the old type. They even go abroad to perform and make foreigners know this traditional culture.

I want to explore whether the change of Taiwan’s opera would appeal more people, especially the younger, or not, and do they consider it as a good change?

  1. well...I am not interested in Taiwan's operas= =
because I cannot understand what they talk about if I don't read subtitles and I don't like this kind of songs. I admit that I lack talent in this way!!

  2. It is a good subject matter to discuss. We should find the balance between tradition and innovation.

  3. My childhood is surrounded by many memory, and one of them is traditional opera. But I watch it only on TV, and I think the opera I watched is not a really traditional one, it is funny and always make me laugh.

  4. Though maybe we are not familiar with the Taiwanese opera culture, it is irreplaceable to those elders in family.

  5. Taiwan's Opera should not be ignored because it is a good way we can see our tradition and how we were from the past.
